Gongzilla first released a series of mostly instrumental albums featuring guest guitarists on each one, including jazz fusion legends such as Allan Holdsworth and David Torn. More recently, Gongzilla has included some U.S. jamband heroes, like guitarist Chuck Garvey of moe., and has emphasized vocals, crafting songs which fuse with improvisational rock.
Their last studio record "Five Even" includes the aforementioned Garvey as well as Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee plus guitarist David "Fuze" Fiuczynski of Screaming Headless Torsos with bassist Kai Eckhardt of Garaj Mahal sitting-in too!

American bassist Hansford Rowe began his career in the clubs of New York City. With French drummer Pierre Moerlen, he reformed the jazz-rock group PM's Gong, considered one of the great fusion bands of the late 70s. He has worked with Mike Oldfield, Allan Holdsworth, John Martyn, Biréli Lagrène, La Monte Young, David Fiuczynski, Gary Husband etc. Hansford developed the first Just Intonation bass. ... more

First studio album (and one of the adorable MoonJune Records very first releases) of this assembly of Soft Machine veterans (from different incarnations). I read, that these were the last studio recordings of the late great Elton Dean, so this album is a legacy on its own. Later this band remorphed into the old band name.
